wooden cutting boards

Which cutting board is ideal for meat & BBQ?

The best cutting board for meat is large, sturdy, and gentle on knives. 4 cm thick boards made of solid oak are particularly suitable – robust, antibacterial, and durable. For BBQ cuts like brisket or pulled pork, we recommend boards measuring 50 x 40 cm or larger – such as the CHEF BOARD or the PITMASTER BOARD .

Which is better – wood or plastic?

Solid wood cutting boards are more durable, antibacterial, and gentle on knives. Plastic boards can trap germs in cut marks, but wood naturally seals them in. Furthermore, wooden products look more elegant and are more sustainable.

Why are one-piece boards better?

A board made from a single piece of wood is more dimensionally stable and durable than glued versions. It contains no glue joints, no layers – just real, solid wood. At wood & more, all boards are made from a single piece.

Which types of wood are best suited?

Hard, dense woods like oak, walnut, ash, or elm are ideal for cutting boards. They are cut-resistant, antibacterial, and gentle on the blade. Oak is especially popular for BBQs, while walnut impresses with its elegant appearance.

How do I properly care for my wooden board?

After use, clean with warm water and mild detergent, dry thoroughly, and regularly rub in with maintenance oil. This will keep the wood supple, hygienic, and visually appealing – for a lifetime.

Chef station & BBQ accessories

What is a boss station and what do I need it for?

The Chefstation is a modular cutting board system with a wooden board, stainless steel console, and GN containers. You can prepare ingredients, dispose of cutting scraps, or pre-portion them – ideal for grills, kitchens, or catering.

Can I upgrade the console later?

Yes, that's exactly what the system is designed for. You can start with the solid base model and later add the stainless steel console and GN containers – depending on your needs.

What is the difference between CHEF BOARD and PITMASTER BOARD?

The CHEF BOARD is a compact board measuring 50×40 cm, ideal for the kitchen and grill. The PITMASTER BOARD is extra long (up to 130×40 cm) and is perfect for carving, arranging, and serving – for example, on a BBQ buffet.

How big should a BBQ board be?

For BBQs, we recommend boards measuring 50×40 cm or larger . They offer ample space for brisket, steaks, or pulled pork. If you want to add extra storage or presentation, opt for XL boards measuring 80 cm or larger.

Is the board also available without a console?

Yes, all executive stations are also available as standalone boards. You can decide at any time whether you want to upgrade the console – maximum flexibility, without compromise.
