🔥 3 original recipes for Korean BBQ

1. Bulgogi – sweet and spicy marinated beef

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 500 g thinly sliced ​​beef (e.g. entrecôte or beef fillet)
  • 1 pear or apple, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped

Preparation:

  1. Mix all ingredients for the marinade in a bowl.
  2. Marinate the thinly sliced ​​beef in it for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight).
  3. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  4. Sear the meat directly on the hot grill plate or pan for about 2 minutes per side.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds & spring onions and serve hot.

2. Galbi – Korean Short Ribs

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 kg beef short ribs (Korean cut, thinly sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 pear, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine (Mirin)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

Preparation:

  1. Mix all ingredients for the marinade and marinate the short ribs for at least 4 hours.
  2. Prepare the grill for medium-high heat.
  3. Grill the ribs directly over the coals until they get a nice crust (about 4 minutes per side).
  4. Serve with sesame seeds & spring onions.

3. Samgyeopsal – Grilled pork belly with dip

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 600 g pork belly, cut into thin slices
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • Kimchi as a side dish

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  2. Place the pork belly slices directly on the grill without marinade.
  3. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy.
  4. Serve with sesame oil, salt & pepper – traditionally with kimchi!
